Retail Sales Discs

Retail sales discs are any discs that RCA sent to dealerships, such as demonstration discs, service discs, employee discs, etc.

Service Test Disc 76476-14923 Stock #149235 (This one belonged to Gunter John and is actually labeled as T-3118 on the disc, press run number 3104911714)
Stereo/Mono Service Alignment Disc 76476-15339 Stock #153394
Zenith Service Disc 149235 on the disc, meaning it is identical to the RCA Service Test Disc above.

Some discs sent only to dealers would include promotional discs with samples of movies and misc. Discs that could be played in the store kiosk to demonstrate the format.

The store kiosk had two spinning racks holding paper versions of discs for display, it had a TV and SGT101 Demonstration Videodisc Player. There was a 3-ring binder with information on the first 100 titles released. (Click here to download the binder.)The kiosk also had a locking cabinet and a place to hold the “Now Showing” disc, which was typically the Bring the Magic Home demo disc as show directly below.

The next title I would like to introduce is called RCA Videodisc Aloha Conference – Catch the Wave to the Kona Coast ’84. It was sent to RCA dealers and was a contest to sell the most players and discs. The top dealers would win a trip to Hawaii. After the trip, each dealer was sent a disc that was recorded at the conference. There was two separate conferences and so there is a blue disc and a white disc.
