RCA J/K Parts

3rd Reduction Gear – $10 (New Manufacture)

The 3rd reduction gear is a spoked gear with an outer ring of teeth. It is designed to fail if something obstructs the stylus arm, so as to prevent damage to other gears on the Arm Drive Assembly. This part is commonly broken in shipping when shipping screws are not used to secure the stylus arm in transit.

Transfer Rod Coupling – $8 (New Manufacture)

The transfer rod coupling connects the transfer rod to the main gear. It is designed to break if the transfer rod gets stuck, to prevent further damage to the rest of the player. This can break if the turntable is not seated properly upon powering up the player, or if a disc in still in the player when it goes into load mode.

Shipping Tabs/Screws (2 screws per kit) – $1

Shipping screws are inserted in the two holes on the bottom of the faceplate on J/K players to lock the stylus arm in place to prevent strain on the 3rd reduction gear. This set consists of a #6×3/4″ and a #10×3/4″Slotted Hex Washer Head Screw set and tabs to indicate their removal upon receipt of the player.

Thrust Plate – $6 (Out of Stock)

The thrust plate goes under the turntable shaft to prevent it from riding directly on the platter height adjustment screw. Often times this will jar loose and can be found stuck to the magnet on the bottom of the platter.
