So probably not a lot of people remember who Avon was, but back in the 1980’s Avon was a really big deal. It was like Amazon today, to put it in perspective. A local Avon sales person, typically a lady and so they were known as “Avon Ladies”, would come to your door with a catalog and samples, and let you see all the products Avon had to offer. You would fill out an order form and write out a check and your items would be delivered to your door. Really cutting edge stuff for the time. Well to train all these new Avon Ladies, Avon decided to use visual aides like videodiscs and VHS tapes to send to employees to show them what would be required of them, what items may be available, or even what it looks like to go to one of their large meetings. Avon commissioned RCA to produce several of these videodisc on the CED format.
